Family medicine physician is accepting new patients at Tennova Primary Care – Farragut
KNOXVILLE, TN (October 19, 2020) – Tennova Healthcare recently welcomed Alan N. Smiy, M.D., family medicine physician, to his new medical practice at Tennova Primary Care – Farragut, located on the campus of Turkey Creek Medical Center at 10810 Parkside Drive, Suite 108, Knoxville. Dr. Smiy specializes in caring for men, women and young adults, ages 15 years and older. He offers well checks, sick visits, annual health screenings and basic skin lesion procedures. Dr. Smiy has a special interest in geriatric medicine and the management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, attention deficit disorder and male testosterone deficiency.
Prior to joining Tennova Medical Group and relocating to Tennessee, Dr. Smiy was medical director of a rural health clinic and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI.
Dr. Smiy earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Cupecoy, St. Maarten. He completed an internship and residency at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital in East Lansing, MI. Dr. Smiy is board certified in family medicine.
